Computer Circuit Board Pen Blank Kit - Sierra - Green Kit
Description
Computer Circuit Board Pen Blank Kit - Sierra - Green Kit
New & Unique
Cast your own Circuit Board Pen Blanks! Will work on Sierra, Virage Ballpoint, Sierra Vista and Elegant Sierra Pen Kits and their clones.
Kit comes with:
- (1) Circuit Board sheet
- (1) Sierra Tube
What you need:
- Your favorite resin (we like Alumilite Resin - sold separately)
- CB Pen Part Kit
- Tube-in Casting Mold (sold separately)
How it works:
The Rolling
Peel the backing off the Circuit board sheet, and place the Circuit board sheet flush to the brass tube, circuits down. Make sure the sheet is square to the tube! Start to roll the Circuit Board sheet around the brass tube, checking to make sure that you are square. Once rolled on completely, carefully press the ends of the sheet to make sure that they are sealed down.
The Casting
Place one of the stoppers from the tube in mold through one hole in in the blank. Insert the other stopper through the other side of the brass tube. Make sure you use a fair amount of pressure to seat the stoppers to prevent resin leakage but, not too much that you do damage to the stoppers. For HDPE molds - place the stopper blank assembly into the mold cavity. For silicone tube-in molds - once the stoppers are seated, hold the stoppers with your thumbs and place your index finger in the cavity and slightly pull out the sides as you keep pressure on the stoppers. This will ensure the silicone flexing back out will not cause the stopper to unseat. You should see some stopper visible between the tube and mold end wall when installed correctly.
Follow the directions on your clear casting resin of choice, and pour the resin over the blank, making sure there is enough resin covering the tube on all sides. Using a pressure pot is recommended. Once fully cured, demold the blank and turn as you would for any acrylic pen blank.
Caution: Do not to handle the brass tube too much. Finger prints, dirt, etc will cause the Circuit Board sheet ends not adhere and lift. Make sure to follow all directions that come with your resin, and casting molds.
