Red Coolabah Burl Pen Blanks - 7/8"

Red Coolabah Burl (Eucalyptus coolabah, Eucalyptus microtheca) comes from one of the hardest and strongest trees in the world. This species is widely distributed over northern Australia, commonly found along rivers and heavy soils of flood plains. It was made famous in the song, "Waltzing Matilda". This premium exotic burl wood offers unmatched color and grain patterns. The heartwood color that ranges from brownish-pink to darker reddish-brown usually accompanied by a swirling mix of eyes. Thin sapwood is grayish white.

Pen Blanks come waxed and are non stabilized. As with all burls, there may be small voids. This can ve filled with a mix of sawdust and epoxy, colored epoxy, or powdered gemstones found on the our site

Pen Blanks are approx. 7/8" square x 5 1/4" long and are priced per each. Photos show a multipule blanks to illustrate the range of colors and figure.
