Crafted from a blend of dyed powdered stone and acrylic resins, these faux-stone pen blanks beautifully emulate the look of genuine stone. Exhibiting an elegant, opaque, vibrant color with red dappling (Blanks may or may not have occasional black veins), These blanks are ideal for experienced turners seeking to infuse their creations with a touch of distinction.

Turning Tip: Faux stone is dense, so the tool needs to be sharp.  It can be turned with a roughing gouge, skew, or carbide tools (please watch our video showing these tools in use).  Because it is stone, it is porous, so you should complete it with a thin CA finish (I recommend 2-3 coats of thin and one or two coats of medium.)  Once these have cured, sand with 600 grit and polish---you can achieve a high shine--Ed
