This Lapis Faux-Stone Pen Blank has been crafted with real powdered stone, dyed and blended with acrylic resins to mimic the appearance of real stone. The striking royal blue hue is accented with elegant white veining, making it a premium choice for the skilled pen turner.

Turning Tip: Faux stone is dense, so the tool needs to be sharp.  It can be turned with a roughing gouge, skew, or carbide tools (please watch our video showing these tools in use).  Because it is stone, it is porous, so you may want to complete with a thin CA finish (I recommend 2-3 coats of thin and one or two coats of medium.)  Once these have cured, sand with 600 grit and polish---you can achieve a high shine--Ed
