Made from a combination of dyed powdered stone and acrylic resins, these faux-stone pen blanks replicate the appearance of real stone. Featuring an elegant opaque Jade green with yellow highlights and black "peppering," these blanks are perfect for seasoned turners looking to add a distinctive flair to their creations.

Turning Tip: Faux stone is dense, so the tool needs to be sharp.  It can be turned with a roughing gouge, skew, or carbide tools (please watch our video showing these tools in use).  Because it is stone, it is porous, so you may want to complete it with a thin CA finish (I recommend 2-3 coats of thin and one or two coats of medium.)  Once these have cured, sand with 600 grit and polish---you can achieve a high shine--Ed
