Amazing Casting Resins (Opaque Urethane)

Amazing Casting Resin from Alumilite—available in White, Black, and Tan—is an extremely user-friendly, rigid opaque urethane resin designed for excellent physical strength and cosmetic results. With very low viscosity and fast cure times, this resin is ideal for casters who want clean, bubble-free castings with consistent opacity.

Featuring a simple 1:1 mix ratio by weight, Amazing Casting Resin offers a short working time and a helpful visual indicator as it transitions from clear to opaque, signaling the end of pot life. Demolding is quick, typically within 5–15 minutes, making it perfect for efficient production workflows. Warming molds before casting is recommended to ensure a thorough, consistent cure.

This resin is especially well-suited for producing opaque pen blanks and solid-color castings. Dyes can be added to achieve bright, rich colors (note that more dye is required than with clear resins). Because the resin is opaque, mica powders are not recommended.

Use & Mixing Instructions

• Mix Part A and Part B at a 1:1 ratio by weight

• Stir vigorously for 20–30 seconds

• For best results, add dye after Parts A & B are fully mixed

• Warm molds prior to casting for best cure consistency

⚠️ Coloring Notes:

• Use non-water-based dyes only

• More dye is required compared to clear resins

• Mica powders are not recommended due to opacity

• ❌ Alcohol Ink Incompatibility: For best results, use Alumilite dyes to achieve vibrant colors, as alcohol inks are not suitable for use with this product.
