Ankh Rotacrylic Pen Blank - The Key of Life

From Masterscroller! The Ankh - the Ancient Egyptian symbol known as key of life (or crux ansata - Latin for  "cross with a handle"). This hieroglyphic character is read literally as "eternal life". Both Gods and Pharaohs were often portrayed carrying an Ankh by its loop or bearing one in each hand, or one in with arms crossed over their chest (arms crossed right over left on the chest often denoted Egyptian royal status - especially during the New Kingdom). To the Ancient Egyptians, the Ankh was the symbolic representation of both physical and spiritual eternal life.

This amazing piece of workmanship involved many hours of design cutting on a CNC, including thousands of lines of code. Once cut, the upper blank was re-cast, in white resin. The matching blank for the other barrel has no image.

The pen blank will fit a mid-size pen (Jr Gent II/Jr Statesman/Triton etc).  Because of the double casting and the intricate design, there is a chance of encountering a small bubble. If you do, it can easily be filled with some of the white sanding dust and CA or epoxy. These pen blanks have been precision cut on a computer-controlled multi-axis CNC. The image depth on the blank does not vary. But you need to drill straight and in the center of the blank (there are two pilot holes started for you) or the image on the blank will be off-center and will turn away as you turn the blank down. Please refer to the provided instructions.

Painted tubes are recommended.
