Eye of Horus (Egyptian) Rotacrylic Pen Blank
Description
Eye of Horus (Egyptian) Rotacrylic Pen Blanks
The Eye of Horus pen blank! The Eye of Horus (also known as the Eye of Ra) is an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power, and good health. In Ancient mythos, the eye was not just an organ of sight but more an agent of action, protection, or even of wrath. In Egypt, the Eye of Horus was seen as a major protector, both in this life and in the afterlife and it is often found on everything from funerary amulets to bows of vessels (to ensure safe sea travel). Today, however, people tend to ascribe a number of meanings to the Eye of Horus, not only protection, but that of wisdom, and revelation. So let this Eye of Horus protect you from your everyday troubles!
This amazing piece of workmanship involved many hours of design cutting on a CNC, including thousands of lines of code. Once cut, the upper blank was re-cast, in black resin. The matching blank for the other barrel has no image.
The pen blank will fit a mid-size pen (Jr Gent II/Jr Statesman/Triton etc). Because of the double casting and the intricate design, there is a chance of encountering a small bubble. If you do, it can easily be filled with some of the white sanding dust and CA or epoxy. These pen blanks have been precision cut on a computer-controlled multi-axis CNC. The image depth on the blank does not vary. But you need to drill straight and in the center of the blank (there are two pilot holes started for you) or the image on the blank will be off-center and will turn away as you turn the blank down. Please refer to the provided instructions. Painted tubes are recommended.
All rotacrylic blanks are approx 4" long and have a 3/8" hole started at each end, the hole does NOT go through the blank. You can drill this blank to easily fit any pen at or under 12.5mm
