First Calvary Rotacrylic Pen Blanks
From MasterScroller! This is one in a series of blanks to celebrate all those that served the US armed forces. This one is for the First Cavalry - one of the most famous and most decorated combat divisions of the United States Army. Although the colors are normally displaced as black and yellow, this blank is made from a base of a white alumilite resin with black accents to better suit a pen. The blank will fit any mid-size pen.
This amazing piece of workmanship involved many hours of design cutting on a CNC, including thousands of lines of code. Once cut, the upper blank was re-cast, in black resin. The matching blank for the other barrel has no image.
The blank will fit a mid-size pen (Jr Gent II/Jr Statesman/Triton etc). Because of the double casting and the intricate design, there is a chance of encountering a small bubble. If you do, it can easily be filled with some of the white sanding dust and CA or epoxy. These blanks have been precision cut on a multi-axis CNC. The image depth on the blank does not vary. But you need to drill straight and in the center of the blank (there are two pilot holes started for you) or the image on the blank will be off-center and will turn away as you turn the blank down.
