Monkeypod Pen Blanks

The pen blanks created from Monkeypod are sourced from its heartwood, which has a golden to dark brown color with occasional darker streaks. The name "Monkeypod" comes from the spiral-shaped fruit pods that the tree produces. Although it is commonly referred to as Raintree outside of Hawaii, due to the leaves folding during rainfall or at night, it is often used as an ornamental shrub or shade tree in tropical regions. 

The wood from Monkeypod is used for various purposes, including construction, furniture, and utility. Different cultures have different names for the tree and its lumber, reflecting its versatility and wide range of uses.
