This pen blank features fierce Moray Eel. Jeff has chosen to outline him in red resin and set him to swim in a swirling sea of silver, blue, and pearl white resins. The details on this guy are amazing, and the contract is just right to make the Moray really pop! What a great gift this will make for any seafarer or diver!
This amazing piece of workmanship involved many hours of design cutting on a CNC, including thousands of lines of code. Once cut, the upper blank was re-cast, in the contrasting resin. The matching blank for the other barrel has no image.
The blank is best on a larger diameter pen (Gent, Majestic, etc) Because of the double casting and the intricate design, there is a chance of encountering a small bubble. If you do, it can easily be filled with some of the sanding dust and CA or epoxy. Painted tubes are recommended.
