Simply glue in the brass tube, trim the ends square, and turn as normal. Each blank is individually selected and no two are exactly alike, making every finished pen truly one of a kind.

Working with antler is slightly different than wood, but the results are well worth it.

• Epoxy is recommended when gluing in the brass tube for maximum strength.
• Trim the ends square using a barrel trimmer or sanding jig before turning.
• Use sharp carbide or high-speed steel tools and take light cuts.
• Antler turns best at moderate speeds with sharp tools.
• Sand progressively through the grits and finish with Micro-Mesh for a smooth, polished surface.
• While antler can be polished to a beautiful natural sheen, many turners choose to leave a subtle satin finish to preserve its authentic appearance.
