Curly maple, found in all Acer species, is famous for its rippling, three-dimensional grain pattern—often called a chatoyant or “curled” figure. This striking effect becomes even more vivid when dyed, making every pen blank a unique showpiece. Also known as fiddleback maple, this wood has long been prized for its use in fine instruments like violins.

Each pen blank measures approximately 3/4” x 3/4” x 5”, the perfect size for custom pens and small turning projects. Available in clear or a variety of vibrant dyed colors.
