Ziricote Pen Blanks

Ziricote is a highly valued tropical hardwood that is often used in guitars and pen blanks. It is known for its ease of use during the crafting process, as well as its ability to turn and finish smoothly. Due to its popularity, it is considered one of the pricier exotic hardwoods available. The wood has a medium to dark brown hue with a hint of gray cast, and features distinct black lines that resemble a landscape pattern. It is frequently employed in the creation of musical instruments, gun/knife handles, furniture, and turnings.

Ziricote's distinctive appearance is unmatched by many other woods, with the exception of certain Brazilian Rosewood pieces that exhibit a similar spider-webbing grain figure.

The pen blanks measure 3/4" x 5" or 6" (Your choice)

  • Common Name: Ziricote
  • Scientific Name: Cordia dodecandra
  • Native Area: Central America and Mexico
  • Hardwood, with a medium to fine texture and a good natural luster. Easy to turn.

  • Pen Blank measures approx.: 3/4" x 3/4" x 5" or 6"
